Al-Rahi Slams Iranian Fuel Entry, Says Sects Should Not Interfere in Justice

Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi said Friday, after meeting with President Michel Aoun, that he “has hope now that we have a government with committed and known people.”

Al-Rahi stressed the importance of separating powers and separating religion from state.

“There is no fear for Lebanon to move forward,” he added, “provided that politicians do not interfere in government affairs and justice, and sects do not interfere with justice.”

He went on to say that “Lebanon is a country of sovereignty, security and constitution,” calling on media professionals not to “air our dirty laundry” in public and to spread a positive image of Lebanon.

Al-Rahi also criticized the entry of Iranian fuel tankers to Lebanon “under the authority of a Syrian army and Hizbullah.”

“It is not acceptable,” he said, calling it “a lack of state’s sovereignty.”

al Rahi was referring to Article 24 of the Lebanese Constitution whereby "Christians" receive half of the seats in the Chamber of Deputies regardless of electoral results.

Al Rahi is contradicting himself because how could he speak about the Iranians as stealing Lebanon's sovereignty, when he met the Iranian puppet in the presidential castle without telling him to step down and safe the Lebanese going to hell. I think Al Rahi needs brain assessment because he appears to be having double personalities and unable to discern right from wrong. He deeply knows that Aoun has handed Lebanon sovereignty to Iran, and yet, he still meets with him and come out to tell us meaningless words that add nothing to what we already know. Instead of rebuking Aoun, who is the head of the serpent, he comes to us with verbosity that only let us laugh at him. One day Wali Fakeh will be here, and Al Rahi would need a permission to even pray in his church mark my word.
