Bou Saab says attack on Gaza delayed border demarcation

W300

Deputy Speaker Elias Bou Saab said Thursday, after meeting with President Michel Aoun, that Israel's attack on Gaza has delayed the border demarcation file.

He added that U.S. mediator Amos Hochstein has only visited Israel the day he left Beirut. "We are following up with him on the matter," Bou Saab affirmed.

Bou Saab said that Hochstein's return to Beirut has been reported by the media, but is not yet practically confirmed.

In June, Israel moved a production vessel into Karish, parts of which are claimed by Lebanon. The move forced the Lebanese government to call for the resumption of U.S.-mediated negotiations, and Hochstein answered the request and visited Beirut, while Hezbollah threatened Israel against proceeding with extraction.

Lebanon is now waiting for a response from Israel after having relayed its maritime border position to Hochstein.

Hopefully it permanently stalls. Lebanon's border is horizontal not diagonal. Lebanese own all of the Karish field and half the fields the Israelis have been drilling for years already. Lebanon existed in 1943 before Israel did and the original maps show horizontal lines. Not the Bullcrap lines they are talking about how. Thieves.
