Bassil says would run for presidency if candidates are 'bad'

Free Patriotic Movement Jebran Bassil would run for presidency if he finds that the chosen candidate is "a bad president."

"I will not accept to have a bad president and in that case of course I would run," Jebran said in a press interview, as he reiterated that his party is trying to reach a solution and a consensual candidate who would be able to make reforms.

Bassil had previously said that he opposes that Marada leader Suleiman Franjieh becomes a president because he does not agree with him on the same political program regarding reforms and building the state.

In a leaked audio from Paris he said that electing Franjieh as a president would bring Lebanon back to the nineties.

"We will move from a Berri-Hariri-Hrawi troika to a Berri-Mikati-Franjieh troika," Bassil said, adding that even if all parties agree on Franjieh, "the FPM will say no."

Why are the good now.

So far Tracy Chamoun, May Rihani and who else have officially announced. Why don't you and your rival Franjieh announce as well and let everyone vote.

The Parliament is hijacked by Berri and company! Whoever wants to run should declare their candidacy and their platform/plan and let votes decide once and for all. Berri and company are waiting for a backroom deal or a major security event to push them into it!
