Berri says negotiations this time 'based on something'
Speaker Nabih Berri has told his visitors that U.S. mediator Amos Hochstein’s visits to Lebanon and Israel will be his last, noting that “the negotiations this time are based on something, pending the Israeli response.”
Berri reiterated that “the guarantees regarding the Israeli stance fall on the shoulders of the Americans.”
He added that should a ceasefire be reached, the mission of electing a new president will become “easier.”

Translation from Arabic: "Hezbollah agrees it is unconditionally surrendering to the Lebanese Army as representative of the elected government of Lebanon. Hezbollah agrees to not take up arms again so long as the government maintains the Army and the Army is able to defend Lebanon's borders, land and rightful maritime claims, and sovereignty in the face of any challenges as decided and commanded solely by the then-sitting duly elected President of Lebanon."
