With all due respect to Mr Chomsky, Lebanon has 18 religious sects, none is a majority. And the Shias are not even the largest Muslim sect in Lebanon, the Sunnis are, although by a slight margin.

Considering all that has happened over the last couple of years between Lenanon and Israel, why is the Lebanese leadership still demanding that the talks will be indirect.
The previous racist comment is utter nonsense. Every community has secured rights under the Constitution and the National Covenant and the parity between Christians and non-Christians is non-negotiable, full stop. Hizbullah does not represent all the Shia and all the Shia are not supporters of Hizbullah. This fanatical party better terminates its allegiance to Iran and start including itself within the institutions of the Lebanese State, if it wants to survive and thrive. There is no ther way around it.
