Israeli strike kills two academics at Lebanese university
An Israeli strike on a campus of Lebanon's public university killed two academics.
The director of the faculty of sciences at the south Beirut campus of the Lebanese University, Hussein Bazzi, and professor Mortada Srour were killed by an Israeli drone strike on the university, the National News Agency said.
The campus is located on the edge of Beirut's southern suburbs, an area that was spared in the last war between the pro-Iran militant group and Israel.
President Joseph Aoun condemned the bombing, which he said targeted the campus, as a crime and a “violation of international laws and norms that prohibit attacks on educational institutions and civilians.”
It seems the Israelis do not think they are targeting a campus for high learning, but that they targetted the individuals they wanted to kill. Does it matter?

Odd that Aoun considers attacks on civilians as a violation of international law. Lebanon fired over 200 rockets at civilian areas last night.
