The Israeli military said it struck a Hezbollah commander in Beirut on Wednesday, after Lebanese state media reported that Israel had targeted the Tallet al-Khayyat residential neighborhood in the capital.

"A short while ago, the IDF struck a Hezbollah commander in Beirut," the military said.

The strike destroyed the multi-story building, located in a predominantly-Sunni area outside of Hezbollah's traditional strongholds.
