Berri reportedly dispatches Khalil to Saudi Arabia

MP Ali Hassan Khalil has traveled to Riyadh as an envoy of Speaker Nabih Berri, Al-Jadeed TV reported.

Khalil will meet with the Saudi official in charge of the Lebanese file, Prince Yazid bin Farhan, in Riyadh, Al-Jadeed said.

Diplomatic sources had previously told Al-Jadeed that Iran has become "more open and positive towards the Saudi role in Lebanon and considers it a stabilizing factor."

The sources also revealed that Bin Farhan's communication with Ain al-Tineh had intensified in recent days and has been a guarantee for calming internal tensions.

The sources further revealed that Saudi action is expected to materialize after Tuesday's meeting between Lebanese and Israeli envoys at the State Department in Washington.
