US says Lebanon, Israel 'much closer' to agreeing pilot zone expansion

U.S. State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott said in a statement that the seventh round of negotiations between Lebanon and Israel was “fruitful” amid ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

“Lebanon and Israel are much closer to reaching an agreement on advancing and expanding the pilot zones process,” Pigott said, as the latest round of direct talks wrapped up in Rome, Italy.
