Netanyahu orders security to brace for more possible threats after flydubai incident

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday that one of the pilots of a flydubai plane bound for Tel Aviv had planned to crash it and kill its mostly Israeli passengers, who stopped a "major disaster."

"During the flight, as they approached the country, one of the pilots stabbed the other pilot, and apparently tried to crash the plane with everyone on board," Netanyahu said in a video message, calling the passengers "heroes" who "prevented a major disaster."

Netanyahu added that "the stabbing pilot has been arrested and is currently being interrogated by the Saudi authorities."

He also said that he has instructed the Israeli security system to prepare for additional threats.

Netanyahu had on Tuesday said there were "indications" that Israel's enemies could try to attack ahead of elections, and was accused of "fear-mongering" by the opposition chief.
