No official date set for Tampa talks amid reports of possible delay
No official date has been set yet for the Lebanese-Israeli military negotiations in Tampa, Florida, al-Joumhouria newspaper said Friday.
"Lebanon has not been officially notified of the negotiations' date," a prominent political source told the daily.
According to al-Joumhouria's sources, the head of the Lebanese negotiating delegation, Ambassador Simon Karam, will not attend the meeting, which may now be postponed until after the Israeli elections.
The daily claimed that some U.S. officials prefer delaying the Tampa talks until after the Israeli elections, amid doubts that the negotiations would yield any concrete results.
