Nasrallah: Rise of Security Incidents Aim at Curbing Movement of the Resistance

W300

Hizbullah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah considered that the recent security incidents across Lebanon aim at curbing the movement of the resistance and plunging it in the local political disputes.

Nasrallah stressed, according to al-Joumhouria newspaper published on Wednesday, that the extremist phenomenon that Lebanon has been witnessing lately are backed and funded by known Arab countries.

The party leader pointed out during a meeting with senior Hizbullah officials that such acts aim at creating sedition between Sunnis and Shiites, reiterating that Hizbullah is trying to avoid it.

Since the eruption of Syria's clashes in 2011, Lebanon has been witnessing several security incidents in Tripoli, along the Lebanese-Syrian border and in several other regions.

Concerning the situation in the neighboring country Syria, Nasrallah addressed the rise of the Takfiri groups.

He said that the conflict in Syria will be prolonged but the Syrian regime of President Bashar Assad will emerge victorious.

Hizbullah is a key ally of Assad and has dispatched fighters to battle alongside the Syrian army against rebels seeking to overthrow him.

The party's intervention has raised tensions in Lebanon, where many Sunnis back the Sunni-led uprising against Assad, whose Alawite faith is an offshoot of Shiite Islam.

your problem, like most of the arab world is that you live in the past--sure the arab empire was out there 1000 years ago, but look at it now. now look at hizb iran, they liberated the south (well done), but have since been looking for a raison d'être--they have used the shabaa farms (never ours to begin with), the palestinian issue to no avail, and now protecting the syrian SHIA regime as part of the resistance (notice a trend). and oh, yeah, they are funded by iran and notice how they are serving IRANIAN interests--hell, they don't even salute the Lebanese flag.

I don't think you will hear cries of 'Vive la Resistance' by anyone either, but you are welcome to wallow in your past....

with the increased numbers of Syrian refugees, and the actions of hizbushaitan against the sunni community as a whole, we can be sure that we are going to see military operations on our soil between these two.
the more hizbushaitan continues on the same path, the more it will increase military actions on the ground.
and we have hizbushaitan to thank for that.

HA will not be alone in fighting the Salafists be they Lebanese or Syrian. If and when the Hariri's get their civil war they will have no allies ... the Army is on board ...Berri is on board ...Jumblatt will join the Resistance ... Geagea will be dead or on a plane for France ...

You and Roaring-FlameThrower should be careful of what you ask for ... it is an endeavor that will be fought on Sunni territory and destroy what is already a Sunni minority in Lebanon.

Very Impressive indeed Mr. mckinl...... you are a prime example of tolerance and education. You threaten to wipe out a whole sect just because you belong to an outlaw sectarian militia? To me, you are one more reason why HA should be eliminated!

Thumb mckinl over 12 years

@ justice

I do not belong to HA, never claimed to ...

What you fail to see are the facts on the ground ...

The Sunni sect would not be wiped out, just sidelined.

Future and their collaborators would suffer a fate less kind ...

Thumb justice over 12 years

"HA will not be alone in fighting......." but you seem to be always speaking on behalf of HA and making predictions about others' fate and what is awaiting them. Maybe I misunderstood you and mistaken you for HA mouthpiece. Sorry, my bad....

Thumb Elemental over 12 years

Both sides pray to God, ever wonder which one the Almighty's rooting for?

Thumb mckinl over 12 years

@ justice

It is hardly a secret that Future has the HA in their sights. What else would the civil war be about other than the HA presence in Lebanon?

The money behind this civil war will be from parties calling for the destruction of HA ... Again : You fail to see the facts on the ground ...

Actually it is not mustaqbal against hizbushaitan, rather it is salafis against hizbushaitan.
what your thick mind fails to comprehend is that the first target for salafis are moderate sunnis.
you need to go and educate yourself a bit boy....

Thumb mckinl over 12 years

@ geha ~ ""Actually it is not mustaqbal against hizbushaitan, rather it is salafis against hizbushaitan. ""

Really? Then I am not hearing Future condemning HA for everything including the ambush of the Army in Sidon?

It is really quite clear that the leaders of Future are supporting these Salafists in both Syria and Lebanon ...

It is the lies, sabotage and sedition of M14 that is inciting this sectarian uprising ...

You really should get your lies straight dear geha ... you have become an embarrassment ...

Thumb geha over 12 years

with you and your like around, I cannot be a traitor :)
just to clrify:
if you look at what moderate shia endured and still are enduring from the extremists hizbushaitan, the same is to be expected from the salafis towards moderate sunnis.

This is an awful far fetched scenario to say the least. Assuming Harriri is looking for a civil war (not sure where the evidence is) the country, just like Syria or any civil war, will be plunged in war for years (maybe you are too young to remember 1975-1990). You simply have drawn the outcome in merely three sentences (military genius) but the country will be devastated. Make sure you post wiser comments, you are ignorant to forget recent history.

I wonder which actions is he referring to:
- His adventure in Qusair?
- His assassination of anti-syrian/anti-hezb politicians?
- His blocking the formation of a Cabinet unless he is grantedd the veto power?
It can't be any of the above, the Sunnis are just being paranoid.
And lastly, why is he shouting, I see three microphones in front of his mouth, are they not enough?

Thumb mckinl over 12 years

HA is an obstacle to Salafists that would impose Sharia Law and to Israelis that would invade ...

Thumb jabal10452 over 12 years

I don't agree.
1. If anything, Hezbollah, by being armed, is encouraging the arming of the Salafists; they feel threatened when Shia are armed and they aren't.
2. Israel is not interested in invading Lebanon. Israel wants peace, normal relations and trade with Lebanon. Hezbollah succeed in convincing you that Israel is absolute, distilled evil and you bought it crook, line and sinker. It is even illegal for a Lebanese citizen to say "hi" to an Israeli one, even overseas. If you don't talk to you opponent in order to solve your differences, how are you ever going to solve your conflict, unless you enjoy perpetual war?

HEZBOLLAH LIES AND HYPOCRISIES:
1/ hezbollah will return its weapons to the national army when south is liberated... south is liberated and hezbis still holds the weapons...(chebaa is under UN 242 depending on syrians who NEVER gave official parpers to the UN to make it fall under UN425 so that israel liberates it...)
2/ hezbollah will then return its weapons when palestine is liberated... LOL!
3/ hezbollah will NEVER return its weapons even in 300 years...re LOL!
4/ hezbollah will never fire against lebanese: may 7!
5/ hezbollah is only to defend lebanon: they are now fighting alongside a FOREIGN army!

Missing peace over 12 years

1/ YES they said it mowaten ...i clearly remember it, get your facts straight...
2/ everyone agreed on the resistance till 2000... then they started to act like any armed militia.... once again get your facts straight!
4/ yes they fired against LEBANESE despite their "promise"!
5/ they have nothing to do in syria... they just didnt listen ONCE MORE to the state of lebanon and its disassociation policy... they don t care about the state anyway...

and tell use mowaten will your militia still respect the lebanese army if ever they want to take their weapons? i don't think so they will not hesitate to kill lebanese sodliers even if it means dragging lebanon into civil war, which they do not care about...
hezbollah is just an illegal terrorist militia.... brave soldier mowaten....

Thumb jabal10452 over 12 years

Mowaten, we must have peace with Israel. A just, honest peace, with mutual respect, open borders, trade, tourism, academic exchange etc. The first people who would profit from this would be the southerners. I hope that you agree that peace and prosperity beats war, hate and destruction any time.

In order to achieve peace, we need to start talking to the Israelis, directly. We can't do it unless Hezbollah agrees, or it is simply a waste of time. So HA needs to get on the band wagon and help this country put war behind it. I claim that making peace requires more courage than making war.

And Mowaten: Please keep in mind that when I say "peace", I don't mean "surrender".
