Speaker Nabih Berri will preside over a parliamentary plenary session that will begin on April 1 and end on April 3.

The legislature will convene in the morning and in the evening on those days to study and approve the draft laws and proposals that are on its agenda.

On Wednesday, MPs quoted Berri as saying that the sessions will tackle a jammed agenda.

The three-day session will also address the new wage scale “if the joint parliamentary committees wrapped up their discussions on the matter ahead of the general assembly meeting."

On Monday, Berri announced that he had formed a committee tasked with conducting the "necessary consultations regarding the presidential election," revealing that he would also hold contacts in person "in a bid to provide the appropriate atmosphere for holding a session to elect a new president within the constitutional timeframe."
